Architect, deploy, and manage Azure SQL Databases, Managed Instances, and SQL Server on Azure VMs.
Optimize performance using Query Store, Execution Plans, and dynamic management views (DMVs).
Implement auto-tuning, index optimization, and query refactoring to resolve bottlenecks.
Scale resources vertically/horizontally using Hyperscale, Elastic Pools, and Read Scale-Out.
Design HA/DR solutions leveraging Failover Groups, Geo-Replication, and Always On Availability Groups.
Execute backup/restore strategies, including Point-in-Time Restore (PITR) and Geo-Restore.
Configure Transparent Data Encryption (TDE), Always Encrypted, and Azure AD authentication.
Enforce network security via Private Endpoints, VNet Integration, and firewall rules.
Audit databases using Azure SQL Auditing and ensure compliance with GDPR, HIPAA, or SOC2.
Automate deployments using ARM Templates, PowerShell, and Azure CLI.
Proactively monitor performance with Azure Monitor, SQL Insights, and Log Analytics.
Configure alerts for critical metrics (e.g., high CPU, storage thresholds).
Right-size resources using serverless tiers, elastic pools, and reserved capacity.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Technical Expertise:

7+ years managing SQL Server (2017+) & 2019 cluster DB and 3+ years with Azure SQL Database/Managed Instance.
Mastery of HA/DR, performance tuning, and Azure security tools (TDE, Private Endpoints).
Proficiency in automation (PowerShell, ARM templates) and DevOps practices.
Experience with Azure Monitor, Data Factory, and Log Analytics.
