IBM DB2 database administration.(RARR Job 2427)

Key Responsibilities:

1. Database Administration:

• Experience in day-to- day administration of Database Management, this includes activities such as Gathering Database Statistics, Reorg, Backup and ; Recovery. Shall be able to setup SOPs for Management of Database.
• Knowledge of various Database Administrative functions such as Start, Stop, etc.
• Experience in Various Functions such as Real Application Cluster, Partitioning.
• Experience in creation/Modification of Database Objects such as Partition, table, Index using Data Definition Language (DDLs)
• Experience in installation and Upgrade OF Database Software. In addition, Application of Patches as and ; when required.
• Experience in HADR and Pure Scale implementation  

1. User and Access management: Experience in Database User and Access management
2. Database ETLs: Experience in Data Extraction, Loading and Transformation using native Database commands
3. Standard Query Language: Experience in development of Standard Queries required to access Database tables.
4. Query Performance: Log Analysis to identify Performance impacting Queries and implement the same with the help of Development Team.
5. Capacity Planning: Capacity Planning and creation of various MIS reports with regard to Database.

Desired Educational Qualifications:

1. BE / MCA / Other graduates will also be considered provided good academic records and working history.

Preferred Certifications: 

1. IBM certified Database administrator for DB2 11.x is mandatory
2. Additionally having certifications like RHEL admin, MCSE, MCDBA, MCP, ITIL, PMP, ISO Standards,  etc. will be preferred

Desired Experience: 

1. Minimum 5 to 7 years of total Experience with minimum 5-7 years as a DBA and Minimum 5 Year of experience in management of  large Database hosted on DB2 (HADR, Pure scale).

Preferred Domains: 

1. IT industry / IT enabled services / Banking / Financial / Stock or Commodity Exchange / Broking Firms etc.

Desired Expertise:

1. Working knowledge of Exchange related applications (Stock/Commodity/CTCL and ; Financial/Banking related applications.
2. Hands-on knowledge and experience in RHEL, Windows OS platforms with admin role
3. Solid understanding of Datacenter Operations, ISO Standards / ITIL / Project Management / IT Infrastructure Management skills.
4. Disaster recovery and Business Continuity Planning, ISO standards etc.
5. Compliance monitoring, Performance monitoring and Capacity planning.
6. Exposure to audits (internal/external) and fine tuning of policies and procedures.

1. Excellent team management skills, Interpersonal skills, conflict management, team building.
2. Basic understanding of Storage, SAN, RAID (0, 1, 5, 10) Technology, RAID Creation/Maintenance/Hot Spare, Fibre Channel etc.
3. Good written and verbal communications skills and ability to Communicate /interact clearly with internal customers is a must.
4. Team oriented, always ready to take up newer challenges and contribute and ; enthusiastic to learn new things.

To be able to perform in 24 x 6 Environment in shift roaster including night shifts.  Should be willing to work independently, passion to meet aggressive timelines in a large production environment.
