Key Responsibilities:

1. Network Design and Implementation:

   • Setup: Configure and install network hardware (routers, switches, firewalls) and software.
   • Design: Plan and implement network architecture based on organizational needs.

2. Monitoring and Troubleshooting:

   • Performance Monitoring: Use network monitoring tools to keep an eye on network performance and health.
   • Issue Resolution: Identify and fix network issues, such as connectivity problems, slow performance, or hardware malfunctions.

3. Security Management:

   • Access Control: Manage user access and permissions to ensure only authorized users can access certain network resources.
   • Threat Detection: Implement and maintain security measures like firewalls, antivirus programs, and intrusion detection systems.

4. Maintenance and Upgrades:

   • Routine Checks: Perform regular maintenance tasks like updating firmware and software patches.
   • Upgrades: Plan and execute network upgrades to improve performance and scalability.

5. Documentation and Reporting:

   • Records: Maintain detailed documentation of network configurations, changes, and incidents.
   • Reporting: Provide reports on network performance, security incidents, and other key metrics to management.

6. Backup and Recovery:

   • Backup Solutions: Implement and manage backup solutions for network configurations and data.
   • Disaster Recovery: Develop and test disaster recovery plans to ensure network continuity in case of a major failure.

7. User Support and Training:

   • Technical Support: Assist users with network-related issues and provide troubleshooting support.
   • Training: Educate users on network policies, security practices, and effective use of network resources.

8. Compliance:

   • Regulations: Ensure the network complies with industry standards and regulations, such as data protection laws and internal policies.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Technical Expertise: Proficiency in networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP), network hardware, and software.
• Problem-Solving: Strong troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve network issues efficiently.
• Security Knowledge: Understanding of network security practices and tools.
• Communication Skills: Ability to explain technical issues to non-technical users and collaborate with other IT professionals.
• Certifications: Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Cisco CCNA, or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) can be beneficial.

Tools and Technologies:
