Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Project Planning and Scheduling:

    • Develop and manage the Project schedule for MEP works in collaboration with other departments (viz. Architectural, Structural, Landscape).
    • Identify milestones and manage project timelines to ensure timely delivery of MEP installations.
    • Coordinate the activities of the MEP teams and subcontractors.
  2. Budget and Cost Management:

    • Prepare and Manage end to end MEP Project budgets, Ensuring Cost Control and timely approvals of Variation orders.
    • Track Project expenses and prepare Monthly, Quarterly & Half Yearly Cost Reports on the financial status of the project.

    • Take necessary commercial approvals on budgets with proper comparatives and related documents.

    • Lead & Participate in all MEP related Pre & Post Contracts, MEP Tendering, MEP BOQ preparation / checking, verifying & Approvals.

    • Check, verify & approve all MEP related RA Bills.

    • Address any budget discrepancies and work with stakeholders to resolve issues.
  3. Design and Coordination:

    • Oversee the MEP design review process, ensuring that designs are accurate and meet all regulatory codes and standards.
    • Collaborate with Architects, Engineers, and all related Consultants to ensure MEP systems integrate seamlessly with other project elements.
    • Ensure compliance with environmental and sustainability standards for energy-efficient systems.
  4. Procurement and Resource Management:

    • Procure the necessary MEP materials, equipment, and subcontractors, ensuring quality and timely delivery.
    • Manage relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to maintain workflow and prevent delays.
  5. Quality Control and Safety:

    • Implement quality control measures to ensure MEP systems meet the required standards with min. maintenance.
    • Monitor safety protocols and regulations to ensure MEP installation work adheres to safety guidelines.
    • Conduct regular site inspections and walk-throughs to check progress and identify potential issues early.
  6. Team Leadership:

    • Supervise, mentor, and support MEP engineers and other technical staff.
    • Conduct team meetings to discuss project goals, timelines, and challenges.
    • Provide guidance and resolve any technical issues or conflicts on the site.
  7. Reporting and Documentation:

    • Prepare and submit regular progress reports to Sr. Management, Project In charge, & Stakeholders.

    • Document project changes, Client / Management approvals, and other essential records.
    • Ensure proper documentation for compliance and future reference.
  8. Client Relations:

    • Serve as the primary point of contact for Clients on all MEP-related matters.
    • Communicate regularly with Clients to ensure their expectations are met and concerns are addressed.
    • Handle client requests, changes, and queries effectively and professionally.

Key Requirements:

  1. Education & Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
    • Relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, LEED) are a plus.
    • 5+ years of experience in project management, with a focus on MEP systems.
  2. Skills & Competencies:

    • Strong knowledge of MEP systems, codes, and standards.
    • Excellent project management skills, including budget control and scheduling.
    • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera).
    • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
    • Ability to lead teams and manage multiple stakeholders.
    • Problem-solving skills and the ability to handle stress in fast-paced environments.
  3. Personal Traits:

    • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
    • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
    • Proactive attitude and ability to foresee potential challenges.
    • Commitment to quality, safety, and environmental standards.

Working Environment:

  • Office-based work for planning, design, and coordination.
  • On-site presence required for inspections, progress reviews, and supervision of MEP installations.

  • Maintaining regular start to end check lists on all the MEP part of projects.

  • Interaction with clients, consultants, contractors, and team members in various locations.
