Eligibility Criteria:
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering with 3 to 6 years of experience in the design and CAD development of mechanical and electromechanical components. Proficient in advanced 3D modeling using NX and Creo CAD software & preferably with strong communication skills.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop 3D models of commodity components using CAD software based on the vendor specifications
- Ensure compliance with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) and industry standards (ISO, ASME, DIN, etc.).
- Read and analyze Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams to ensure accurate system integration.
- Equipment Specification: Define pumps, compressors, heat exchangers, and piping components based on P&ID requirements.
- Evaluate the redundancy in the system for the requirements & support global standardization (Commonality) of the commodities to improve reusability and efficiency.
- Work closely with design, procurement, and manufacturing teams to ensure compatibility of components
- Maintain part models and documentation in PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) and PDM (Product Data Management) systems.
- Ensuring interchangeability (Form, Fit & Function) of components across different product lines.
Mandatory Skills:
- Proficient in parametric 3D modelling using UG-NX & CREO softwares
- Familiarity with PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) and PDM (Product Data Management) tools.
- Understanding of detailed manufacturing process and end to end parameters of Mechanical/ Electromechanical components such as Fittings, Tube & hose Assemblies, Fasteners & Hardware’s, Pressure switch, Pressure gauge, Valves, Flow Switch, Hydraulic & Pneumatic components, Precision components etc.
- Symbol Interpretation: Ability to read and understand standard P&ID symbols for piping, valves, and instrumentation.
- P&ID Expertise: Strong understanding of piping systems, valves, pumps, and instrumentation.
- Expert knowledge in Mechanical component parameters and it’s significant impact on product performance.
- Review and interpret component data sheets, drawings (Tolerances & stack up analysis)
- Use of platforms like Trace Parts, McMaster-Carr, Fastenal, or Part Community for component research.
- Regulatory Standards: Familiarity with ASME, ANSI, ISO, and API standards for piping and instrumentation.
Desirable Skills:
- Knowledge of BOM Management tools like Silicon Expert and HIS.
- Good Knowledge on materials (Metals, Polymers), surface treatments & coatings
- Understanding of industry standards (ISO, ASME, DIN, ASTM) for commodity parts.
- Exposure to CAD validation methods
