Job Description

SBU Head – HPDC, Investment Casting, and Sand Casting

Location: Gurgoan

Reporting To: Managing Director/Chairman/ board
Experience: 25+ years of relevant experience in HPDC, Investment Casting, and Sand Casting


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Strategic Leadership:
    • Develop and implement business strategies to drive the overall growth of the SBU (Strategic Business Unit) in line with corporate objectives.
    • Identify and explore new business opportunities, potential customers, and emerging markets in the HPDC, investment casting, and sand casting segments.
  2. Operational Excellence:
    • Oversee the entire production processes of HPDC (High-Pressure Die Casting), investment casting, and sand casting, ensuring adherence to industry standards and company SOPs.
    • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, reduce cycle times, and improve quality.
    • Implement lean manufacturing principles to ensure cost control, waste reduction, and efficiency optimization.
  3. Financial Performance:
    • Develop and monitor the annual operating budget for the SBU, including revenue, profit margins, and cost control measures.
    • Responsible for achieving targeted profitability and growth, ensuring operational costs remain within the budget.
    • Monitor KPIs such as revenue growth, production efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
  4. People Management:
    • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of managers and engineers across the different casting processes.
    • Foster a culture of high performance, accountability, and continuous improvement.
    • Manage talent development, succession planning, and training programs to build the technical capabilities of the team.
  5. Customer Relationship Management:
    • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key clients to ensure long-term partnerships.
    • Ensure the delivery of high-quality products that meet or exceed customer specifications and requirements.
    • Act as the primary point of contact for key clients in resolving technical and commercial issues.
  6. Technical Expertise:
    • Provide technical guidance and support for complex casting processes including High-Pressure Die Casting, investment casting, and sand casting.
    • Collaborate with engineering teams on product design improvements and production optimization.
    • Stay updated on the latest technological advancements in casting and manufacturing processes.
  7. Quality and Compliance:
    • Ensure compliance with all quality standards, health and safety regulations, and environmental policies.
    • Oversee quality assurance programs and continuous improvement projects to reduce defects and rework.
    • Ensure that the casting operations comply with ISO and other relevant certifications.
  8. Supply Chain and Vendor Management:
    • Optimize the supply chain and vendor relationships to ensure timely procurement of raw materials and components.
    • Collaborate with the procurement team to establish cost-effective sourcing strategies.

Key Requirements:

  • Educational Background: Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgy,
  • Experience: 25+ years of experience in leading casting operations with a focus on HPDC, investment casting, and sand casting processes.
  • Technical Skills: Strong understanding of casting processes, metallurgy, manufacturing best practices, and quality standards.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven leadership experience in managing large teams, driving operational excellence, and achieving business goals.
  • Commercial Acumen: Strong financial management skills with the ability to develop and execute business strategies.
  • Communication: Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Problem-solving: Strong analytical and decision-making capabilities to resolve technical and operational issues.
