Network managers have a wide range of responsibilities, which can include:

• Establishing firewall security measures to protect network infrastructure from unauthorized access
• Monitoring network performance to identify potential problems and help ensure high performance levels
• Designing and implementing firewall network security measures, such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and encryption technology
• Maintaining the network infrastructure by troubleshooting problems with servers, routers, switches, firewalls etc.
• Monitoring network performance to identify potential problems and help ensure high performance levels
• Developing policies and procedures for network security and usage, including acceptable use policies for computer networks
• Monitoring activity on the network to ensure compliance with established standards
