Job Description:
We are looking for a dynamic Commodity Business Manager to drive B2B sales of fresh produce (especially onions) to institutional clients such as HoReCa, FMCG companies, exporters, and food processors.
The role involves market analysis, deal closure, pricing strategy, and building strong client relationships to ensure consistent business growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and acquire new B2B clients across HoReCa, FMCG, catering, and export segments
- Drive sales of onions and allied commodities with a focus on volume deals
- Monitor mandi prices, analyze trends, and forecast price volatility
- Negotiate and close fixed-price contracts
- Conduct client visits, demos, and ensure quality specifications (grading, packing, shelf life)
- Achieve monthly sales targets (200–300 MT)
- Manage collections and coordinate delivery logistics
- Build strong networks via trade markets, industry events, and digital platforms
Requirements:
- 2–3 years of experience in agri-commodity / FMCG / food sales
- Strong knowledge of Chennai market
- Experience in onion/commodity sales preferred
- Strong negotiation and pricing skills
- Graduate with fluency in Tamil & English
- Own two-wheeler with valid license
- Strong local network in agri/FMCG ecosystem
