Job Description

Role Summary

The Level 3 Engineer will serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for Tanium administration in a large‑scale, multi‑site enterprise environment. This role requires advanced troubleshooting, patch deployment expertise, and the ability to design automation playbooks while ensuring compliance, performance, and uptime. The engineer will act as the final escalation point for Tanium incidents, lead root cause analysis, and drive continuous improvement across infrastructure operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Patch Deployment: Deploy patches across OS, DB, and middleware servers; manage patch lists (update, creation).

  • Server Health Checks: Perform proactive monitoring, troubleshooting, and remediation of server issues.

  • Dashboarding & Reporting: Build ad‑hoc reports and dashboards for analytics, compliance, and performance monitoring.

  • Tag Management: Implement enhanced tag management for better endpoint classification and reporting.

  • Automation Playbooks: Design and execute automation workflows to streamline patching, compliance, and remediation.

  • Incident Escalation: Lead advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis for Tanium incidents.

  • Performance & Compliance: Drive improvements in endpoint performance, patch compliance, and reporting accuracy.

  • Change Management: Participate in risk assessments, stakeholder communication, and change control processes.

  • Documentation: Maintain technical documentation, runbooks, and solution designs aligned with compliance standards.

  • Future Requests: Manage and prioritize upcoming requests, presenting point‑of‑view (POV) on proposed changes.

Mandatory Skills & Experience

  • Tanium Core Modules: Strong experience with Patch, Deploy, Data, Automate, TDS, Sensors, Action Groups, and Client Settings.

  • Data Analytics & Automation: Ability to design dashboards, automate workflows, and integrate monitoring tools.

  • Troubleshooting & RCA: Advanced troubleshooting skills with proven root cause analysis expertise.

  • ITSM Process Knowledge: Exposure to ITSM frameworks (Incident, Problem, Change, RCA).

  • Enterprise Experience: Background in large‑scale, multi‑site or international enterprise environments.

  • Scripting Skills: Proficiency in PowerShell and Bash scripting for automation and remediation.

  • Operating Systems: Strong knowledge of Linux and Windows server environments.

  • Communication & Collaboration: Effective communication skills for stakeholder engagement and team collaboration.

  • Certifications: Tanium Certified Operator (TCO) and Tanium Certified Administrator (TCA) recommended.
