Embedded Test Architect (RARR Job 6485)

Tasks / Responsibilities:

• Drive the implementation of the end-to-end SW test strategy, including tool selection, mocking strategies for components and interfaces, and the definition of test environments
• Responsible of the SW architecture/design of the SW test framework to ensure maintainability, scalability and robustness.
• Identify, plan, and prioritize necessary "enabler" projects and tooling to support advanced testing capabilities.
• Supervise regularly the quality and SW processes to identify missing gaps in tests strategy and improve it (useful, costly?, enough coverage?).
• Establish and promote best practices and guidelines for software testing, such as defining standards for confirmation tests on bug fixes (e.g., "post-mortem" analysis and test creation).
• Contribute to the definition of the Quality Attributes (Non-Functional Requirements) of the software product with System and Software Architects and creation of KPIs for measuring them
• Collaborates in the creation of feature-based test plans and aligns test activities with test leads in order to avoid gaps and/or duplicities

Expected skill set:

• 8-12 years of experience in SW testing and Test Architecture at a component and integration level.
• Deep knowledge of technologies and platforms for embedded systems over the complete software development lifecycle
• Practical knowledge of architecture concepts (e.g. architecture frameworks, design patterns, standards, quality attributes, etc.)
• Technical expertise in quality assurance methodologies
• Communication and moderation skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams
• Practical experience in various coding paradigms (e.g. functional, object-oriented) and programming languages
• Experienced in design and modelling (UML)
• Analytical thinking
• Conflict management skills
• Experience in preparing test plan and deploying it
• Experience in Linux – User level
• Scripting – Windows power shell, Python, Linux Shell scripting
• Experience in Manual and Automated testing of SW running on embedded Linux devices.
• Preferable: Knowledge of Linux IPC mechanisms (DBus/CommonAPI, Web Sockets)
• Knowledge of V model and different levels of tests.
