What You Will Do:
The Specialist – Material Master will play a critical individual contributor role within the Data Assets & Digital Products team, supporting the global Master Data Management Program. This role requires strong techno‑functional expertise in SAP Material Master, hands‑on experience with data platforms, and the ability to independently drive material master design, harmonization, reservations, and continuous improvements across global landscapes.
You will design and manage data workflows, as well as drive robust data quality and compliance with internal and external data regulations, policies, and procedures (GXP, SOX, PII). Your work will play a key role in supporting the Operations organization and Digital Transformation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and maintain Material Master data models, workflows, and templates.
- Independently manage material reservations, identify conflict areas, and drive resolution.
- Lead material master harmonization efforts across regions and systems.
- Identify technical and process gaps in current setups and propose improvement solutions.
- Support material master–related projects across IT and business teams, ensuring smooth system integrations.
- Execute data cleansing, creation, conversion, validation, and reconciliation activities.
- Coordinate testing, error handling, audit/compliance actions, and SLA adherence.
- Prepare and maintain documentation including SOPs, WIs, data quality catalogues, and governance artifacts.
- Monitor, analyse, and report data quality metrics, recommending corrective actions as needed.
- Serve as a subject matter expert and key point of contact for Material Master‑related topics.
- Develop and deliver materials or training related to material master processes and data flows.
- Contribute to the deployment and continuous improvement of the Data Management Framework
- Use Databricks, SQL, Python, and visualisation tools to support operational and analytical needs.
- Use JIRA / DevOps tools for tracking work items and Confluence for documentation and knowledge sharing.
- Coordinate testing, error handling, data conversion and/or validation, audit/compliance actions (Non-Conformance (NC) and/or Corrective Action Preventive Action (CAPA)), and Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
- Monitor, analyse and communicate data quality, identify gaps, and make recommendations to improve data quality.
- Engage with business partners on tactical execution; serve as a key point of contact to functional partners, providing appropriate guidance on topics relating to Master Data and processes.
- Facilitate continuous improvement of existing data design, process, and templates to deliver better business outcomes.
- Prepare metrics, dashboards, and tracking to facilitate the efficient operations of the department
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree
- 6 to 8 years of overall professional experience
- 4+ years of experience in Master data management on large ERP platforms, e.g., MDG.
- Hands‑on experience managing data for finished goods, semi‑finished (Bulk/WIP), raw, and packaging materials.
- Strong understanding of Material Master data and cross‑functional dependencies
- Experience in material harmonization, reservation handling, and process improvement
- Solid knowledge of data governance, data quality, and compliance requirements (e.g., GXP, SOX, PII)
- Hands‑on experience with SAP ECC and SAP S/4HANA
- Strong analytical skills with SQL and Python
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across teams.
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience with SAP S/4HANA and/or SAP Master Data Governance (MDG)
- Experience working on global ERP implementations or transformations.
- Exposure to Databricks, Power BI, or similar data platforms and visualisation tools
- Familiarity with JIRA / DevOps tools and Confluence
