VP Sales – Government, Defence & PSU Vertical

About the Role

We are seeking a high-calibre sales leader to drive revenue growth within the Government, Defence, and PSU sectors. This is a premium leadership position for an expert who can navigate the intricacies of the Indian procurement ecosystem, manage complex long-term sales cycles, and close high-value strategic deals worth ₹8–15 Cr+.

⚠️ Critical Requirement: Government Procurement Specialist

  • Procurement Mastery: Deep knowledge of GeM (Government e-Marketplace), RFP, RFI, and complex tendering processes is mandatory.

  • Sector Focus: Proven track record selling to Defence, CAPF, PSUs, Central/State Ministries, and NIC.

  • High-Ticket closures: Demonstrated ability to close deals worth ₹8 Cr+ consistently.

  • Sales Cycle Endurance: Comfort and experience in managing 6–12-month-long complex sales cycles with sustained engagement.


Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Growth: Identify and penetrate high-value opportunities across Defence, CAPF, PSUs, and both Central and State Ministries.

  • Tender & Bid Management: Lead end-to-end responses for RFP/RFI. Collaborate with internal technical and compliance teams to ensure flawless bid documentation.

  • Institutional Relationship Building: Act as the primary liaison for bureaucrats, procurement heads, and high-ranking defence officials.

  • Revenue Ownership: Deliver a Year 1 revenue mandate of ₹8–15 Cr+. Manage the entire cycle from engagement to contract execution and approval.

  • Ecosystem Management: Build and manage a robust partner ecosystem, working closely with system integrators, consultants, and strategic partners to extend market reach.

  • Procurement Knowledge: Expert-level understanding of Government policy frameworks and GeM-based procurement.

  • Bid Management: Superior skills in active bid management and compliance handling.

  • Negotiation: CXO-level negotiation skills with the ability to navigate complex institutional hierarchies.

  • Relationship Network: An established, active network of contacts within Government and Defence departments.

Good to Have

  • Experience selling specifically to major PSUs such as NTPC, BHEL, etc.

  • Deep exposure to Defence Tech or System Integration domains.

  • Experience in high-growth startup or scale-up environments.
