Job Role: Business Development Manager

Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager with experience in the Medical Device Sales/Purchase to join our team who will be responsible for driving business growth through strategic partnerships, new customer acquisition, and expanding market reach. You will work closely with both internal teams and external stakeholders to promote our innovative solutions and help improve the quality of life for individuals requiring prosthetics and orthotics. The role will require you to identify leads, build connections, create proposals, and negotiate on the contracts with stakeholders, helping the organization to increase its footfall and revenues.

In addition to core business development responsibilities, this role will own the end-to-end proposal lifecycle, including identifying opportunities, responding to RFPs/RFIs, drafting techno-commercial proposals, and closing contracts. You will work cross-functionally with clinical, technical, and leadership teams to position the companies’ solutions effectively and win strategic deals.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Market Expansion & Growth:
    • Identify and pursue new business opportunities medical device sales within the prosthetics and orthotics industry, including hospitals, rehabilitation centers, healthcare providers, and government contracts.
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers such as healthcare professionals, purchasing managers, and distributors.
    • Drive market analysis to identify emerging trends and competitor activity to ensure the company remains competitive.
    • Develop and implement strategies to increase market share and revenue streams in targeted regions and sectors.
  2. Sales Strategy Development:
    • Create and execute tailored sales plans to achieve company sales goals and objectives.
    • Prepare and deliver presentations to potential clients, effectively communicating the value proposition of our products and services.
    • Negotiate and close contracts with key clients, ensuring favorable terms and sustainable long-term relationships.

2. Proposal Development & RFP Management

    • Lead the end-to-end proposal lifecycle: opportunity identification, qualification (bid/no-bid), submission, and follow-ups.
    • Draft high-quality techno-commercial proposals, including pricing strategies, solution design, and value articulation.
    • Manage and respond to RFPs, RFIs, and tenders, ensuring compliance with client requirements and timelines. (Salary)
    • Collaborate with clinical, product, and finance teams to develop accurate and compelling submissions.
    • Maintain a repository of proposal templates, case studies, and standard documentation to improve turnaround time and quality.
    • Participate in pre-bid meetings, clarifications, and presentations to clients.
    • Continuously improve win rates through structured feedback and proposal refinement.
  1. Customer Relationship Management:
    • Build long-lasting relationships with both existing and prospective customers by understanding their needs and providing exceptional support.
    • Serve as a primary point of contact for inquiries, sales assistance, and after-sales support, ensuring a seamless customer experience.
    • Collect customer feedback and collaborate with internal teams to improve products and services.
  2. Cross-functional Collaboration:
    • Work closely with the marketing, product development, and clinical teams to align product offerings with market needs and customer demands.
    • Provide market insights and customer feedback to help guide product innovations and improvements.
  3. Reporting & Forecasting:
    • Track and report on sales performance, market trends, and pipeline development on a regular basis.
    • Develop accurate sales forecasts and contribute to budget planning efforts.
    • Monitor and analyze KPIs to ensure continuous progress toward business development goals

Qualifications:

  • Experience: 3+ years of experience in business development, sales, or a related role in the medical devices, healthcare, or prosthetics and orthotics industry
  • Proven experience in proposal writing, RFP/tender management, and contract negotiation

 

 

Skills & Competencies:

    • Experience in B2B sales with a focus on healthcare devices and medical technology
    • Preferable knowledge of the prosthetics and orthotics industry, including current trends, regulatory environment, and customer needs.
    • Strong understanding of institutional sales cycles (government/private healthcare).
    • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
    • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving business growth.
    • Ability to analyze data, prepare reports, and make strategic decisions.
    • Highly organized, self-motivated, and capable of working independently and as part of a team.
    • Proficient in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
