About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Java Technical Project Manager with strong expertise in Payments and FinTech systems to lead the design, development, and delivery of highly scalable transaction processing platforms. The ideal candidate should possess a blend of technical leadership, project management, and hands-on Java architecture experience while managing cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

The candidate will drive end-to-end project execution, ensuring timely delivery, quality, scalability, security, and compliance of payment solutions.

Key Responsibilities

 

Technical Leadership

• Lead architecture, design, development, and deployment of enterprise-grade payment applications.
• Drive solution design for high-volume transaction processing systems.
• Provide technical guidance to engineering teams on Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, Cloud, and Distributed Systems.
• Conduct architecture reviews, code reviews, and performance optimization initiatives.

• Ensure adherence to security, scalability, and coding best practices.

• Mentor and guide development teams.
• Conduct performance reviews and technical coaching.
• Drive hiring, onboarding, and capability building.
• Foster engineering excellence and innovation culture.

Project Management

• Own end-to-end project delivery from requirement gathering to production rollout.
• Prepare project plans, estimations, sprint plans, release plans, and resource allocation.
• Track project milestones, dependencies, risks, and issues.
• Manage stakeholder communications and provide regular status updates.
• Drive Agile/Scrum ceremonies and ensure successful sprint execution.

• Coordinate with Product Managers, Architects, QA, DevOps, and Business Teams.

Payments & FinTech Responsibilities

• Lead development of payment processing platforms and financial transaction systems.
• Work on payment products involving:
  • UPI
  • IMPS
  • NEFT
  • RTGS
  • Cards & Switching
  • Payment Gateway
  • Merchant Acquiring
  • Wallets
  • Reconciliation & Settlement
  • Open Banking APIs
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and security standards.

• Handle transaction monitoring, fraud prevention, reconciliation, and settlement workflows.

Required Skills

• Strong experience in Java, Spring Boot, Microservices architecture
• Good understanding of REST APIs, cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP)
• Experience with database technologies (SQL/NoSQL)
• Hands-on with CI/CD tools, Git, Jira
• Knowledge of system design and architecture
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills

Qualifications

• B.Tech / BE / MCA / M.Tech

• 12+ years in Software Development

• 3+ years in Technical Project Management
• Strong Java Development background with hands-on coding experience
• Experience in Product-Based FinTech Companies.
• Strong exposure to large-scale payment transaction platforms.
• Ability to manage globally distributed teams.

• Hands-on leader who can contribute to architecture and critical coding tasks when required.

• PMP / Scrum certification is an added advantage
