Performance Test Engineer (XPT Job/ 8)

About the Role

 

We are looking for an experienced Performance Test Engineer to design, implement, and execute performance testing for our Telecom B2C application. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in K6 and hands-on experience in testing web applications (Next.js), mobile apps (React Native), and backend microservices (Node.js). 

You will be responsible for analyzing performance bottlenecks, providing detailed reports, and ensuring the scalability and reliability of the application across multiple platforms.

 

Key Responsibilities 

• Design and implement performance test strategies, plans, and scripts for web, mobile, and backend APIs.
• Develop and execute load, stress, endurance, and scalability tests using K6 (preferred) or similar tools.
• Perform performance testing of microservices-based backend (Node.js) and ensure inter-service communication efficiency.
• Execute API performance testing and validate SLA adherence for critical APIs.
• Conduct end-to-end performance validation of the web frontend (Next.js) and mobile app (React Native).
• Monitor system resource utilization (CPU, memory, network, DB) during test execution.
• Work closely with developers, DevOps, and architects to identify bottlenecks and recommend optimization strategies.
• Provide detailed performance reports, dashboards, and trend analysis.
• Integrate performance tests with CI/CD pipelines for continuous monitoring.
• Define and implement baseline performance metrics and thresholds.
• Collaborate with business and product teams to simulate real-world user loads and telecom-specific use cases.

 

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience in performance testing with K6 (mandatory).
• Proficiency in scripting and customizing performance scenarios in K6.
• Good knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript for scripting within K6.
• Experience in API performance testing (REST/GraphQL).
• Solid understanding of microservices architecture and performance challenges in Node.js backends.
• Experience in testing Next.js web apps and React Native mobile apps.
• Strong knowledge of performance testing concepts – load, stress, spike, endurance, scalability.
• Familiarity with monitoring and profiling tools (Grafana, Prometheus, New Relic, Datadog, or similar).
• Experience with CI/CD integration (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, etc.).
• Strong debugging, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
• Good communication skills for presenting findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

 

Nice to Have 

• Exposure to telecom domain and B2C customer-facing applications.
• Experience with cloud environments (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Familiarity with database performance tuning (SQL/NoSQL).
• Knowledge of test automation for functional/regression testing.

 

Deliverables Expected

• Performance test plan & scenarios for web, mobile, and APIs. 
• Automated performance test scripts in K6. 
• Execution reports covering response time, throughput, concurrency, error rate, resource utilization. 
• Bottleneck analysis & optimization recommendations.
• Regular updates & final summary report with benchmark results.
