Job Summary
Our client is seeking a Regulatory & Compliance Professional to bridge our engineering team with India's regulatory authorities. You will lead certification and compliance activities, ensuring our drone products meet all statutory and regulatory requirements for development, certification, commercialization, and operation.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive DGCA Type Certification activities for UAS platforms, including documentation, submissions, liaison with DGCA officials, and Digital Sky/NPNT compliance.
- Manage BIS CRS registrations for electronic subsystems and WPC Equipment Type Approvals (ETA) for RF equipment.
- Coordinate DGFT licensing, ITC-HS classification, customs documentation, and import compliance for electronic components.
- Advise engineering teams on regulatory requirements during product development, including frequency bands, certifications, labeling, and statutory compliance.
- Track regulatory updates from DGCA, MoCA, DoT, BIS, DGFT, and DPIIT, and communicate their impact to internal teams.
- Maintain compliance records, certification schedules, renewals, amendments, and regulatory documentation.
- Work closely with R&D, operations, and external regulatory agencies to ensure timely approvals.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Electronics, Aerospace, Regulatory Affairs, or a related discipline.
- 2–3 years of hands-on experience working with DGCA, BIS, WPC, or DGFT.
- Strong knowledge of:
- UAS Rules 2021 (UASR)
- CAR-UAS Framework
- DGCA Type Certification
- BIS CRS Certification
- WPC Equipment Type Approval (ETA)
- Experience preparing and managing regulatory submissions.
- Ability to understand engineering drawings, datasheets, and test reports.
- Excellent written communication and documentation skills.
- Strong organizational and stakeholder management abilities.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in the drone, aerospace, defense electronics, or telecom industry.
- Familiarity with CE, FCC, or international product certification standards.
- Knowledge of PLI Drone Scheme requirements.
- Exposure to battery compliance standards such as UN 38.3 and IEC 62133.
