Job Description
1. Tool & Die Design:
• Design tools, dies, and fixtures for Rigid Box Making, Rotary Die Cutting (RDC), and other packaging machinery.
• Develop detailed 2D and 3D CAD models using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
• Optimize designs for manufacturability, durability, and precision.
2. Packaging Machine Drawings:
• Create detailed assembly and part drawings for packaging machines.
• Modify and improve existing tool designs to enhance machine performance.
3. Material & Process Selection:
• Choose the appropriate materials and manufacturing processes for tools and dies.
• Work with suppliers and manufacturers to ensure tool quality.
4. Prototyping & Testing:
• Develop prototypes and conduct fit, form, and function analysis.
• Work with production teams to validate tool performance.
5. Technical Documentation & Standards:
• Maintain BOMs (Bill of Materials), technical documentation, and revision control.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
6. Collaboration & Troubleshooting:
• Work closely with production, maintenance, and procurement teams for tool development.
• Troubleshoot design-related issues and provide solutions.
Requirements:
1.Software Proficiency:
• SolidWorks – 3D modeling, sheet metal design, simulation.
• AutoCAD – 2D drafting, tooling layouts, technical drawings.
2.Technical Knowledge:
• Tool & Die Design – Rigid box tools, RDC tooling, cutting dies, forming tools.
• Packaging Machine Components – Rotary cutting, forming, and assembly tools.
• GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) – Ensuring precision in tool design.
3.Manufacturing & Material Knowledge:
• Material Selection – Steels, alloys, composites for tool manufacturing.
• Machining & Fabrication Processes – CNC machining, wire-cut EDM, laser cutting.
• Heat Treatment & Surface Coating – Enhancing tool durability.
4.Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills:
• Tolerance Stack-up Analysis – Ensuring correct fits and clearances
• Root Cause Analysis (RCA) – Troubleshooting design and production issues.
5.Documentation & Communication:
• Technical Drawing & Specification Writing – BOMs, tool lists, and revision history.
