Job Description

Purpose of the role
Lead infrastructure and migration validation activities following cloud migrations, assuring platform functionality, connectivity, data integrity, resiliency, and observability for containerised workloads in a regulated clinical environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Design, maintain, and execute infrastructure and migration test strategies covering networking, connectivity, security, compute, storage, identity, and data paths across Azure and hybrid environments
  • Define and run smoke, functional, and non-functional tests to validate hub-and-spoke / Virtual WAN routing, private endpoints, firewall/NVA controls, WAF ingress, and application connectivity
  • Validate containerised services deployed to App Service for Containers, Azure Container Apps, and AKS, including service health, scaling behaviour, logging, secrets management, backup, and recovery
  • Verify data migration outcomes to Azure PostgreSQL Flexible Server, including schema validation, data integrity checks, performance validation, and rollback testing
  • Collaborate with platform engineers, software engineers, and external vendor technical teams to define test scenarios, acceptance criteria, and cutover readiness
  • Produce clear test evidence, defect reports, and assurance artefacts to support stage gates, clinical safety reviews, and formal go-live sign-off

Experience & skills

  • Senior-level experience in test engineering or technical assurance roles supporting cloud or infrastructure migrations
  • Proven experience designing and executing test strategies for complex systems, including network connectivity, identity, data platforms, and hybrid integrations
  • Hands-on experience validating container-based and PaaS platforms (App Service for Containers, Azure Container Apps, or AKS)
  • Strong understanding of non-functional testing concepts, including performance, resilience, failover, and rollback
  • Comfortable working with technical teams and vendors to challenge assumptions, raise defects, and drive remediation in regulated environments

Technology & Tooling

  • Azure platform areas under test: hub-and-spoke or Virtual WAN networking, private endpoints, firewall/NVA controls, DNS, identity, and security configuration
  • Compute & runtime platforms: App Service for Containers, Azure Container Apps, and AKS (validation and testing perspective)
  • Data & storage: Azure PostgreSQL Flexible Server, Azure Files and Blob Storage (performance, integrity, backup/restore validation)
  • Observability: Azure Monitor and Log Analytics for validation of logs, metrics, alerts, and dashboards
  • Integration testing: API connectivity via API Management and external vendor systems
  • Test tooling: API and performance test tools (e.g., k6, JMeter, Postman), scripting for connectivity and validation, Azure diagnostics
  • Infrastructure-as-code: ability to read and understand Terraform/Bicep outputs for test planning and validation (not authoring)

Preferred certifications
ISTQB, AZ‑104/AZ‑204 (or equivalent).
