Job Description

Role will be responsible for end-to-end sourcing and procurement of renewable project components / items, including PV modules, inverters, mounting structures, cables, BOS items, and services. The role requires strong vendor management skills, knowledge of the solar industry ecosystem, and expertise in ensuring timely procurement within cost and quality benchmarks, while complying with regulatory and project requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Procurement & Sourcing – EPC Components

  • Develop sourcing strategies for specific materials: PV modules, inverters, transformers, mounting structures, cables, IDT, HT & LT Panels, Earthing, SCADA, BOS items, Transmission Line items etc.
  • Manage RFQs, competitive bidding, vendor evaluations, and techno-commercial negotiations.
  • Optimize costs through long-term supplier agreements and planned procurement.
  • Added advantage of knowing global market trends for raw materials (polysilicon, wafers, cells) and their impact on module pricing.
  • Identify, qualify and maintain vendor data base for supplies & services for different categories.
  • Develop alternate sourcing channels to mitigate risks of supply disruptions.
  • Conduct vendor audits, factory visits, and capacity evaluations for reliability.
  • Build strategic alliances with logistics and EPC contractors for timely deliveries.

Supply Chain & Project Support

  • Coordinate with Engineering, Project Execution, and Quality teams to finalize specifications and BOQs.
  • Plan procurement timelines aligned with project execution schedules.
  • Ensure just-in-time material availability at site warehouses while optimizing inventory holding costs.
  • Support site teams for urgent procurement requirements during execution.

Compliance & Documentation

  • Ensure implementation of procurement SOPs and other company recommended compliance & regulations.
  • Maintain accurate procurement records, contracts, and approvals.
  • Handle LC, bank guarantees, and advance payment documentation.

Process Excellence & Technology Adoption

  • Implement ERP (SAP/Oracle/MS Dynamics) based procurement processes.
  • Drive cost reduction initiatives and total cost of ownership (TCO) analysis.

Key Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of PV modules, inverters, transformers, mounting structures, cables, IDT, HT & LT Panels, Earthing, SCADA, BOS items, Transmission Line items etc and supply chain challenges.
  • Expertise in vendor management, contract negotiations, and global sourcing.
  • Analytical ability to interpret data, material consumption, BoM etc to extract value in negotiations.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and cross-functional coordination.

Educational Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical/Electronic or equivalent)
  • MBA/PGDM in Supply Chain / Operations / Materials Management preferred.

Experience Requirement

  • Total 7–10 years of procurement & supply chain experience, with at least 3–4 years in the solar/renewable energy sector.
  • Proven experience in large-scale solar/renewable EPC procurement.
