Job Description

We are seeking a Project Manager to drive the successful execution of SAP IT projects for a leading life sciences company in Tokyo. This role focuses on System, Data, and Process Improvement (PI) initiatives, requiring strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

  • End-to-End Project Management: Lead the full lifecycle of IT/SAP HANA projects — planning, execution, monitoring, and closure.

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Define scope, objectives, deliverables, and timelines while balancing diverse expectations.

  • Cross-Functional Coordination: Collaborate with global and local teams to ensure milestones are achieved.

  • Risk & Progress Monitoring: Identify risks, propose solutions, and ensure timely, high-quality delivery.

  • Governance & Documentation: Maintain project plans, status reports, risk logs, and adhere to PM standards.

  • Meeting Facilitation: Organize regular project meetings, prepare agendas, and track action items.

  • Reporting: Provide clear status updates to senior global program managers and stakeholders.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in Consulting, Change Management, or SAP ERP implementation.

  • 3+ years in project management, ideally within IT consulting or life sciences.

  • Demonstrated team leadership or managing consultant experience.

  • Familiarity with Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid methodologies.

  • Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple priorities.

  • Excellent communication skills in Japanese (JLPT N2 or higher) and English.

  • Advanced stakeholder management and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to adapt to a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

  • Willingness to travel (1–2 times per month for 3–4 days).

  • Proficiency in project management tools (MS Project, JIRA, or equivalent).

Preferred Qualifications (Nice-to-Have)

  • PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent certification.

  • Experience in regulated industries (life sciences, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, health, food, consulting).
