Job Description
We are looking for an experienced SAP FICO Functional Consultant to lead the Finance & Controlling (FICO) workstream in Japan. You will play a pivotal role in implementing and optimizing SAP HANA functionalities, with a strong focus on Accounts Receivable (AR), Accounts Payable (AP), Financial Supply Chain Management (FCSM), and Vistex. This is a high-impact role within a regulated life sciences environment, requiring both technical expertise and strong business acumen.
Key Responsibilities

Implementation & Optimization: Lead the deployment and enhancement of SAP HANA for the local FICO workstream.

Collaboration: Partner with global finance teams and local stakeholders to gather requirements, configure solutions, and align with global standards.

Functional Translation: Convert business needs into clear functional specifications for implementation teams.

Customization & Integration: Configure SAP FI/CO modules, integrate with FCSM, and leverage Vistex for rebate and incentive management.

Testing & Training: Conduct system testing, deliver end-user training, and provide ongoing support throughout the project lifecycle.

Documentation: Prepare and maintain detailed configuration and process documentation.

Compliance: Ensure SAP FICO processes meet Japanese regulatory requirements and GxP standards in pharma/life sciences.

Post-Go-Live Support: Provide stabilization support and resolve issues to ensure smooth adoption.
Required Skills & Experience

5+ years as an SAP FICO Functional Consultant, with expertise in AR, AP, FCSM, and Vistex.

At least 2 full-cycle SAP implementations.

Strong configuration skills in SAP FI and CO modules.

Solid understanding of financial processes and accounting principles.

Proven ability to configure SAP FI to meet business needs, especially in AR.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Ability to explain complex SAP concepts in simple business terms.

Knowledge of compliance and validation in GxP environments.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work with diverse teams.

Proficiency in Japanese (JLPT N2 or higher) and English.

Adaptability to a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Willingness to travel as required.
Preferred Qualifications (Nice-to-Have)

PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent certification.

Experience in regulated industries such as life sciences, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, health, food, or consulting.
