Kafka Support Engineer (RARR Job 5701)

We are seeking an experienced Confluent Kafka Administrator with 3–5 years of hands-on experience in managing and supporting enterprise-grade Kafka environments within the BFSI domain. The ideal candidate will be a proactive team player who collaborates effectively with multiple technical teams to ensure stability, performance, and security of business-critical systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Administer and maintain Confluent Kafka clusters, ensuring high availability, scalability, and performance.

• Manage configurations, topics, partitions, and replication to meet application and business needs.

• Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve Kafka-related issues in production and non-production environments.

• Collaborate with database and infrastructure teams to ensure smooth integration and data flow across systems.

• Conduct application support activities, including daily health checks, incident management, and root cause analysis.

• Participate in technology upgrades, weekly mock drills, and other planned maintenance or support activities.

• Maintain comprehensive documentation for Kafka environments and operational procedures.

Technical Skills:

• Messaging & Streaming: Confluent Kafka Administration (mandatory)

• Databases: Oracle, DB2

• Operating Systems: Red Hat Linux

• Monitoring & Scripting: Familiarity with monitoring tools and Linux shell scripting preferred

Soft Skills:

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Effective communication and collaboration across teams

• Willingness to work in rotational shifts, including weekends as per support schedule
