CAD Engineers with experience in 3D Modelling, Fixture Design, and Process Planning for CNC machining in the Aerospace Sector. The candidate will be responsible for developing accurate CAD models, designing jigs & fixtures to support precision manufacturing, and contributing to process planning to ensure efficient production of aerospace components.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop 3D CAD models and detailed drawings of aerospace components using SolidWorks.
- Design jigs, fixtures, and work-holding solutions to support CNC machining processes.
- Support process planning for CNC machining operations including sequencing, tool selection, and setup optimization.
- Work closely with production, quality, and tooling teams to ensure manufacturability and compliance with aerospace standards.
- Prepare and maintain engineering documentation including BOMs, drawings, and process sheets.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams for design validation and troubleshooting during new part development or process improvements.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to optimize cycle times, reduce rework, and enhance productivity.
- Ensure all designs comply with aerospace & OEM standards, GD&T practices, and quality requirements.
Required Skills & Competencies:
- Proficiency in SolidWorks for 3D modelling and drafting.
- Strong knowledge of fixture design principles for CNC machining applications.
- Experience in process planning for precision machining (milling, turning, and multi-axis operations).
- Good understanding of GD&T, aerospace machining tolerances, and material properties.
- Hands-on experience in design for manufacturability (DFM) and process optimization.
- Familiarity with aerospace quality standards (AS9100, NADCAP) is an added advantage.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in CAD modeling, fixture design, and CNC process planning.
Prior experience in the aerospace manufacturing sector is highly preferred
