Job Description: SAP Lead for Global Steel Manufacturing Support

About the Role:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced SAP Lead to manage a team of 50+ consultants providing 24x7 SAP support to our global steel manufacturing operations. This role demands strong leadership, deep SAP expertise, and a broad understanding of IT infrastructure and security. The ideal candidate will be groomed to become the Chief Information Officer (CIO) of the organization within the next 3-4 years.

Key Responsibilities:

• • Lead and manage a large team of SAP consultants supporting SAP ECC and other SAP modules across multiple time zones.
  • Ensure seamless 24x7 SAP operations, meeting SLAs and minimizing downtime for critical manufacturing processes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align SAP support with business goals and manufacturing requirements.
  • Oversee IT infrastructure and security aspects related to SAP systems, ensuring compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives in SAP support, including automation, process optimization, and knowledge management.
  • Build and nurture a high-performance team culture, focusing on skill development, motivation, and retention.
  • Communicate effectively with senior management and stakeholders through crisp presentations and reports.
  • Prepare to take on broader IT leadership responsibilities, including IT strategy, governance, and innovation, aiming for the CIO role.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• • Total experience of 20+ years in IT field and extensive experience (10+ years) in SAP implementation, support, and leadership, preferably in the steel or manufacturing sector.
  • Proven ability to manage large teams (50+ consultants) and coordinate global support operations.
  • Strong knowledge of SAP ECC 6.0 and related SAP modules.
  • Expertise in IT infrastructure management, including networks, servers, and cloud environments.
  • Solid understanding of IT security frameworks and best practices.
  • Excellent team-building skills with a track record of mentoring and developing talent.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, capable of engaging with technical teams and executive leadership.
  • Strategic mindset with a passion for technology innovation and business alignment.
  • Willingness and capability to evolve into the CIO role within 3-4 years.
  • Btech/Mtech/MCA or other relevant qualification along with certifications supporting previous IT roles with qualitative delivery.

• • Experience in steel manufacturing or heavy industry environments.
