SoC Power&Performance (PnP) Eng – ODC (NCS/Job/ 3310)

Role Summary

The SoC PnP Engineer will support SoC‑level power and performance execution by running use‑case and workload‑based power measurements on silicon using thermal chiller setups and NI‑DAQs. The role is execution‑focused and works closely with the central SoC PnP and Power Architecture teams.

This role is critical for generating accurate, repeatable power data to support SoC PPA closure and correlation.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute SoC‑level power measurements across defined use‑cases and workloads
• Set up and operate thermal chiller environments for controlled temperature testing
• Perform current and power measurements using NI‑DAQs
• Run predefined power/performance workloads and capture results across P‑states, workloads, and operating corners
• Collect, sanitize, and organize raw power data for analysis and reporting
• Support power correlation between models, emulation data, and silicon measurements
• Work with central teams to debug anomalies and improve measurement repeatability
• Maintain clear documentation of test setups, configurations, and procedures

Required Skills & Experience

• Hands‑on experience with power measurement on silicon
• Experience using NI‑DAQs or similar data acquisition systems
• Familiarity with thermal chambers / chillers and temperature‑controlled testing
• Strong understanding of SoC power concepts (rails, domains, P‑states)
• Experience running use‑case / workload‑based validation
• Ability to follow structured test plans and produce high‑quality execution data

Preferred Skills

• Experience with SoC bring‑up, validation, or characterization
• Exposure to power modeling or correlation workflows
• Scripting skills (Python, Shell) for automation
• Experience working with global teams and hand‑offs
