REPORTS TO: IT Management
SUMMARY
The Solutions Developer works with our Solutions Analyst and Engineers along with our IT PMO, to determine appropriate technical solutions to business problems. The Developers responsibilities will include translating business requirements into detailed technical designs, as well a designing, coding, testing, debugging, maintain code and applications. This role entails being hands-on with new development as well as support, maintenance and enhancement of existing applications.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist with supporting existing applications by working with current implementation team to analyze issues and drive to a resolution.
- Interpret Business requirements and formulate functional and technical specifications and validate that the design of a potential solution fits within the SSB technical architecture.
- Participate in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
- Work with the application development and third-party implementation teams to ensure change management processes are being followed.
- Work with the Infrastructure team to troubleshoot basic networking issues as they relate to supporting the current applications.
- Develop and coordinate testing scenarios to validate application functionality meets the business requirements.
- Assist with development of support documentation (e.g. Run-Book, CMDB)
- Provides insight and suggestions into improving IT operations, support procedures & techniques.
- Monitors environment continually seeking out enhancement ideas.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Good understanding of Universe BASIC programming language and toolset
- General knowledge of Json structure a plus.
- Effective communication, interpersonal, organizational, and planning skills.
- Ability to work autonomously and manage multiple issues and projects.
- Ability to work in a team environment, meet deadlines and adapt to changing priorities.
- Ability to interpret and support standards, policies and procedures established by the Company, Serta Simmons Bedding, and Federal, State or local agencies.
- Must be willing to travel as needed.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/ WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, or equivalent experience
- Work is indoor and sedentary in nature.
- Utilization of video display terminal and keyboard is 95% of the time.
- Work may involve local and national travel.
