Job Description: Oracle Functional Consultant – WMS
Role Summary
We are looking for an experienced Oracle Functional Consultant – WMS who specializes in designing, configuring, and implementing Oracle Warehouse Management System (WMS) solutions (EBS or Cloud). The candidate will work closely with business stakeholders to optimize warehouse operations including inventory management, picking, packing, and shipping processes.
Key Responsibilities
1. Solution Design & Configuration
Configure Oracle WMS modules including:
Warehouse structure and layouts
Rules and strategies
LPN (License Plate Number) management
Task management and execution
Align system design with business and operational requirements
2. Requirements Gathering & Analysis
Conduct workshops with business users to capture requirements
Perform fit-gap analysis and propose appropriate solutions
Prepare detailed functional specification documents for RICEW components (Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Extensions, Workflows)
3. Implementation & Testing
Drive end-to-end implementation lifecycle phases including:
Conference Room Pilot (CRP)
System Integration Testing (SIT)
User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
Ensure system readiness and defect resolution during testing phases
4. Integration & Cross-Module Coordination
Work on integrations between Oracle WMS and other modules such as:
Inventory (INV)
Order Management (OM)
Transportation Management (TMS)
Support integration with external warehouse automation systems (RF devices, conveyors, robotics, etc.)
5. Deployment & Support
Support go-live planning and execution, including cutover activities
Provide post-production support and issue resolution
Ensure smooth warehouse operations post implementation
Required Skills & Qualifications
Experience
3 to 10 years of experience in Oracle WMS implementations (EBS or Cloud)
Proven experience in at least one end-to-end WMS implementation
Functional Expertise
Strong knowledge of:
Warehouse management processes (inbound/outbound logistics)
Inventory management
Picking, packing, and shipping workflows
Experience with RF scanning and warehouse automation processes
Modules Knowledge
Hands-on experience in:
Oracle WMS
Oracle Inventory (INV)
Purchasing
Shipping Execution
Technical Understanding
Basic understanding of Oracle WMS data model and key tables
Ability to collaborate effectively with technical teams for customizations and integrations
Soft Skills
Strong client-facing and stakeholder management skills
Excellent communication and documentation abilities
Ability to work in a fast-paced, delivery-oriented environment
Good to Have
Experience with Oracle Cloud WMS (if hiring for cloud transformation projects)
Exposure to warehouse automation technologies
Knowledge of supply chain best practices
