Network Engineer (NCS/Job/ 1632)

Key Responsibilities:

1. Network Migration Execution:
   • Plan, execute, and manage network migrations from multi-vendor devices to Nokia platforms.
   • Ensure smooth migration with minimal downtime and adherence to project timelines.
2. MOP Development:
   • Create detailed and comprehensive Method of Procedures (MOPs) for migration activities.
   • Validate and refine MOPs through rigorous testing and peer reviews.
3. Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution:
   • Identify, analyze, and resolve technical issues during and after migrations.
   • Collaborate with vendor support teams to address escalations and critical challenges.
4. Technical Expertise:
   • Utilize Nokia CLI and configuration tools for device management and migration.
   • Work with a variety of multi-vendor devices, including routers, switches, and firewalls, ensuring compatibility and optimal performance.
5. Shift Support:
   • Provide 24/7 migration support through rotating shifts.
   • Ensure seamless handovers and communication across shift teams.
6. Documentation and Reporting:
   • Maintain detailed records of migration activities, issues faced, and resolutions implemented.
   • Provide periodic progress updates to stakeholders and management.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related fields.
• Experience:
  • Proven experience in network migrations, especially transitioning to Nokia infrastructure.
  • Strong understanding of Nokia CLI commands and network configurations.
  • Hands-on expertise with multi-vendor devices and platforms.
• Skills:
  • Proficiency in networking protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF).
  • Troubleshooting skills in complex multi-vendor environments.
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Nokia certifications (e.g., Nokia SRC) or equivalent.
• Experience with scripting (e.g., Python) for automation of migration tasks.
