Job Description

Role Overview:
Looking for an experienced Production Support Engineer with strong Mainframe background to handle critical applications in a 24x7 environment. The role involves incident resolution, job monitoring, performance troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and ensuring system stability.


Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor & support business-critical Mainframe applications in production.

  • Analyze and resolve incidents within defined SLAs; perform root cause analysis.

  • Handle JCL batch jobs, Cobol program investigations, and system ware log analysis.

  • Coordinate with development and infrastructure teams to resolve recurring issues.

  • Perform environment checks, health monitoring, and proactive stability improvements.

  • Create and maintain support documents, SOPs, and knowledge base.

  • Participate in on-call rotation and weekend deployments as required.

  • Use Dynatrace and other monitoring tools for performance troubleshooting.

  • Automate recurring/manual tasks with Unix shell scripts.


Required Skills (Primary)

  • Mainframe technologies (JCL, COBOL)

  • System ware / log analysis

  • Production support & incident management

  • Ticketing tools (ServiceNow/JIRA or similar)


Secondary / Good-to-Have Skills

  • Unix/Linux shell scripting

  • Dynatrace or other APM tools

  • Understanding of Java APIs (for interface debugging)

  • Change/Problem management processes (ITIL knowledge is a plus)

  • Should be ready to work in All three shifts and Sat/Sun. on Rotation basis.
