What I am consistently seeing- To avoid:

  • Candidates experience is mainly focused on production support, monitoring, and incident handling, with little to no experience in leading implementations, migrations, or onboarding work.  This is more support and reactive work, with a strong focus on task-based execution rather than structured delivery.
  • Candidates list tools like AWS, Jenkins, Kubernetes, etc., but cannot clearly explain what they personally owned or delivered end-to-end.
  • In conversation, candidates are often not able to clearly explain their work, decisions, or approach.
  • For Lead roles, the candidate describes hands-on work but cannot explain how they led, guided others, or handled delivery at a higher level.


Can we filter out:

  • Support / ticket-driven profiles without delivery experience
  • Vague ownership (“worked on…” without clear responsibility)
  • No customer-facing or communication examples
  • For Lead, no clear leadership signal
