L2 Shift Engineer (NCS/Job/ 2314)

Role Overview:
We are looking for an experienced L2 Shift Engineer to provide intermediate-level technical 
support for IT infrastructure during shift hours. The candidate will handle system and network￾related incidents, perform root cause analysis, and ensure infrastructure uptime. This role 
requires hands-on experience in server and network troubleshooting and the ability to work 
independently during assigned shifts.
Roles and Responsibilities:
 Provide L2-level support for infrastructure issues (server, storage, network, 
applications).
 Monitor and respond to alerts generated by NMS/monitoring tools.
 Perform troubleshooting of system and network faults, escalating to L3 where 
necessary.
 Maintain logs, shift handover reports, and incident documentation.
 Coordinate with service providers, vendors, and internal teams for issue resolution.
 Execute routine maintenance tasks: patching, backup validation, disk cleanup, etc.
 Provide on-site support for hardware failures and ensure timely replacements.
 Support L1 team members and verify resolution quality for critical issues.
 Ensure SLA compliance and report deviations with RCA inputs.
Technical Skills Required:
 Good understanding of Windows/Linux server administration.
 Basic configuration and troubleshooting knowledge of switches, routers, and 
firewalls.
 Experience in ticketing tools like ServiceNow, Jira, etc.
 Exposure to backup systems, antivirus solutions, and endpoint management.
 Hands-on with basic scripting (PowerShell/Shell) – added advantage.
 Knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and system logs analysis.
Certifications (Good to have) if not also can process:
CCNA / MCSA / RHCSA
ITIL Foundation
Soft Skills:
 Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
 Ability to work independently during shifts with minimal supervision.
 Clear communication and coordination with remote teams.
 Attention to detail and strong documentation discipline.
