Job Description

As a Network Administrator – L2, you will be responsible for managing and supporting enterprise network infrastructure across multiple technologies. This includes routers, switches, wireless, load balancers, WAN optimizers, and SD-WAN solutions. The role involves handling escalated incidents from L1, implementing changes, performing RCA, and ensuring compliance with security and performance standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide L2 support for network incidents and service requests across LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi, and SD-WAN.
  • Configure and troubleshoot routers, switches, VLANs, STP, HSRP/VRRP/GLBP.
  • Manage wireless networks (Cisco, Aruba, Ruckus) and ensure optimal performance.
  • Administer load balancers (F5, Radware, Citrix NetScaler) and WAN optimizers (Riverbed, Silver Peak).
  • Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for recurring issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Execute firmware/IOS upgrades, apply hotfixes, and maintain compliance.
  • Monitor network performance, analyze logs, and optimize configurations.
  • Prepare daily/weekly/monthly reports on incidents, changes, and capacity.
  • Coordinate with vendors/OEMs for escalations and resolution.
  • Maintain network documentation, diagrams, and SOPs.
  • Support major change implementations and participate in DR drills.
  • Mentor L1 engineers and provide knowledge transfer sessions.

 

Required Skills

  • 4–6 years of hands-on experience in enterprise networking.
  • Strong knowledge of TCP/IP stack, routing, switching, and subnetting.
  • Expertise in routing protocols: OSPF, EIGRP, BGP.
  • Experience with HSRP/VRRP/GLBP, STP, VLANs, and trunking.
  • Familiarity with Wi-Fi technologies (Cisco, Aruba, Ruckus).
  • Working knowledge of load balancers (F5, Radware, Citrix) and WAN optimizers.
  • Basic understanding of Cisco SD-WAN (Viptela) and ACI.
  • Knowledge of DNS, DHCP, AAA, SNMP, and security best practices.
  • Ability to analyze logs and troubleshoot complex network issues.
  • Certifications: CCNA is must.

 

Education & Certifications

  • B.E./B.Tech/Diploma (Full-Time) in Computer Science, Electronics, or related field.
  • CCNA / CCNP Enterprise (preferred).
  • Vendor-specific certifications (F5, Radware, Aruba) desirable.
