Job Summary:
A Junior KNIME Developer in a support role bridges the gap between technical operations and business users, ensuring that automated data workflows run reliably and efficiently. This role typically emphasizes workflow maintenance, troubleshooting, and minor enhancements over building complex architectures from scratch.
Role Overview
Primary Focus: Maintain and optimize existing KNIME Analytics Platform workflows and automate repetitive data processes.
Support Level: Provide 1st and 2nd level technical support for ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes and business intelligence tools.
Key Responsibilities
Workflow Support & Maintenance: Monitor scheduled workflows on KNIME Server or Business Hub to ensure they complete successfully.
Issue Resolution: Perform defect triage and bug fixing for production workflows, specifically handling data quality or connectivity issues.
Minor Enhancements: Update existing workflows to accommodate changes in source data formats (e.g., Excel, CSV, or Database schemas).
Documentation: Maintain technical documentation for workflows, including node descriptions and deployment procedures.
End-User Assistance: Help business users navigate KNIME reports and troubleshoot local installation or configuration issues.
Required Technical Skills
KNIME Proficiency: Basic to intermediate understanding of the KNIME Node Repository, including Data Manipulation, Statistics, and Database nodes.
SQL Foundations: Ability to write basic SQL queries, joins, and unions for data extraction.
Data Integration: Familiarity with connecting KNIME to external databases like PostgreSQL, Snowflake, or Oracle.
Scripting (Plus): Basic knowledge of Python or Java for custom scripting within KNIME nodes.
BI Familiarity: Understanding of how KNIME outputs feed into visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
Experience: 0–2 years of experience with KNIME or similar ETL/data tools.
Certification: Completion of KNIME Certification (e.g., L1 or L2) is often highly preferred
