Job Description KINAXIS DEMAND PLANNER

 

Job Purpose 

  • Castrol are establishing a global capability hub (BTC) in Pune, which will support delivery of the global strategy 
  • The BTC is an integral part of the global supply chain operating model. 
  • This is a fast-paced role in a new and exciting part of the global supply chain with an opportunity to shape a new team, new capabilities and digital tools to deliver real business outcomes. The role will work extensively with leaders across the Supply Chain.  

The Demand Planners play a key role in ensuring we generate a demand plan for our regional performance units (PUs), to support the S&OP process, bringing together our customer requirements and assumptions through very close collaboration with Sales teams. 

This position requires proven demand planning experience, combining strong statistical modelling skills within our digital planning tool (Kinaxis Maestro) with having the ability to foster positive relationships with Sales and Marketing in the markets to create a robust Demand Plan. 

 

Key Accountabilities 

 

  • Develop and maintain accurate demand forecasts using historical sales data, market trends, and statistical models within our global Planning tool Kinaxis Maestro.  This includes appropriately cleansing historical events, running robust statistical modelling, and deciding what is appropriate Intelligence to add looking forward. 
  • Monitor and analyze Demand planning KPI’s like forecast accuracy, forecast value add, forecast bias etc 
  • Provide insights on demand trends, seasonality, and risks to improve planning accuracy. 
  • Support the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process by presenting the updated demand insights along with key changes to assumptions, working with the PU S&OP Manager 
  • Participate and provide relevant inputs in the weekly S&OE & monthly S&OP meetings 
  • Collaborate with other PU teams and global Demand Planning Excellence lead to ensure adoption of required global frameworks and best practices 
  • Continuously improve demand planning processes through data-driven insights and best practices.

Job Holder Requirements 

(Minimum education, experience & capabilities) 

 

Experience 

8-10 years of experience in demand planning or related role in consumer goods, food & beverage, or manufacturing industries. 

 

  • Proven experience as a Demand Planner using an advanced digital Planning tool, desirably Kinaxis Maestro 
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in supply chain software (Kinaxis Maestro highly desirable) and ERP systems (SAP ECC, S4 Hana, JDE) 
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal with the ability to work effectively with Commercial and Sales teams based in other countries 
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. 

 

Requirements 

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or a related field (Master’s preferred). 

Willingness to work in the morning shift (7 am to 4 pm IST)  

Role to be based out of the Pune office – 3 days a week

  • Hands-on expertise on configuring & authoring Kinaxis Workbooks, Worksheets, Scorecards, Dashboards and Analytics, Custom Alerts & Management.

Job Description:

  • Min 4-5 end-to-end implementations of  Kinaxis Rapid Response
  • Strong in managing customer expectations, stakeholder management, regular reviews and customer management

  • Strong knowledge of SCM Planning concepts, practices and procedures
  • Lead the solution design and provide detailed documentation and technical directives to Kinaxis developers to configure Kinaxis resources such as Workbooks, Custom Filters, Hierarchies. Design the data integration architecture for Data Source and Mapping and Automation Chains.

  • Act as liaison between the business stakeholders and technical developers to transform and develop requirements into designs, development approaches, and implementation
  • Work closely with Integration teams to ensure successful data migration from different ERP Source systems to Kinaxis and vice versa
  • Create, document, train and consult the data cleansing, harmonization, and transformation rules processes.
  • Perform Data readiness assessment, data cleansing, harmonization & transformation rules to ensure the successful implementation and remediation (for new ERPs, new acquisitions, sites, etc) of Rapid Response ensuring that the solution is producing the expected results
  • Provide support on issues before, during, and after deployment and partner to identify long term solutions, reducing system/integration instability. Troubleshoot, diagnose, and recognize possible or existing architectural problem areas and determine ways to effectively control and resolve them
  • Architecturally consult and support regional, divisional, functional projects and initiatives including working with workstream leads to develop functional roadmap accounting for new solution capabilities and sustaining projects (i.e. system upgrades)
