Job Description
We are seeking a Jira Platform Lead to own, govern, and continuously enhance our Jira ecosystem, including Jira, Confluence, and Jira Service Management (JSM). This role combines hands-on platform administration with governance, Agile enablement, process optimization, and platform strategy. The ideal candidate will serve as the primary Atlassian SME, driving scalable platform configurations, governance standards, Agile best practices, automation, and adoption across Engineering, Product, IT, PMO, and business teams.

Core Responsibilities
• Own administration and support of Jira, Confluence, and Jira Service Management (JSM).
• Establish scalable project structures, workflow frameworks, and permission models.
• Guide teams on effective Jira usage, Agile board configurations, and process optimization.
• Configure and optimize Scrum, Kanban, and SAFe workflows to support SDLC processes.
• Configure and manage workflows, schemes, permissions, custom fields, issue types, projects, and spaces.
• Define and enforce platform governance, standards, naming conventions, and best practices.
• Develop automations and integrations using Automation for Jira, ScriptRunner, Groovy, and REST APIs.
• Lead platform improvements, migrations, and continuous optimization initiatives.
• Provide platform leadership, stakeholder consultation, and advanced troubleshooting support.

Key Qualifications – Technical Expertise
• 7+ years of hands-on experience with Jira, Confluence, and Jira Service Management.
• Deep expertise in Jira administration, including workflows, schemes, permissions, screens, issue types, and custom fields.
• Strong experience with Confluence administration and JSM configuration (queues, SLAs, portals, request types).
• Experience with Atlassian Cloud and/or Data Center environments.
• Advanced JQL, Automation for Jira, ScriptRunner (Groovy), and Jira REST APIs.
• Strong understanding of Agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe) and SDLC processes.
• Proven experience establishing governance models, standards, and platform best practices.
• Strong stakeholder management, communication, and documentation skills.
