GCP Devops Engineer (NCS/Job/ 2112)

Principle Responsibilities:

• Working within the FCDP Team, design, deploy, and maintain scalable, highly available, and secure cloud infrastructure using industry best practices.

• Using Google Cloud Platform, and products such as BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Cloud Logging, Pub/Sub and Dataflow.

• Be part of a team that performs sustainable continuous improvement, identifying and removing organisational barriers affecting the team, processes and products owned.

• Using Confluence to detail technical designs and user instructions.

• Using JIRA to provide progress updates on development work.

• Effectively work with diverse and widely distributed teams.

• Be able to advise others on technology solutions and explain designs to technical and non-technical audiences.

• Ensure appropriate communication and release documentation is issued to our customers and stakeholders on new product deliveries.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Cloud engineering certification or equivalent is an advantage.

• Working knowledge of Finance IT area is preferred.

• 2+ years of experience in technical program on Cloud or Big Data.

• Familiar with Agile Scrum processes.

• Strong problem-solving, communication, and presentation skills.

• Experience with development, deployment, and operations in a cloud environment, with preference given to experience with Google Cloud Platform.

• Ability to work effectively in a global team structure and embrace diversity.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Requirements:

• Experience of the FCDP or Finance On The Cloud Programme.

• Experience of Google Cloud Platform and interacting with Cloud Storage, BigQuery and Cloud Logging.

• Proven troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.

• Experience of working as a DevOps Engineer, working through design, build, testing and implementation.

• Experience of working within an Agile delivery POD.

• Experience of working through a product backlog in JIRA.

• Experience of industry standard code management tooling such as GitHub, Nexus, Jenkins.

• Self-driven with the ability to work independently, progressing parallel pieces of development at any one time.

• Both spoken and written communication skills with experience of adapting your style and approach to the audience and message to be delivered.
