Job Description

Job Title: AS400 Developer

 Software Developer – AS400

Job Functions / Responsibilities

·         Analyze, design, develop, implement changes to existing AS400 applications

·         Participate in the evaluation, build, testing, and implementation of new products and the modification of existing products

·         Define and propose solutions for enhancements and system changes

·         Collaborate with Managers, Business Analysts, Architects, and subject matter experts to establish the technical vision and analyze tradeoffs between usability and performance needs

·         Estimate development tasks, define work efforts and timelines, provide project statuses

·         Work with testers and business teams to triage defects and ensure changes are migrated into production correctly

·         Participate in Agile/Scrum activities (sprint planning, retrospectives, and daily sprint meetings)

·         Provide on-going production support for AS400 systems and applications

·         Perform tasks regarding change control, incident management, and audit

·         Support SOX and IT Security guidelines to ensure all systems are kept in compliance

·         Create and update the appropriate system documentation

Qualifications and Skills

·         8+ years of demonstrated skills for the development and maintenance support of complex applications (package and custom solutions)

·         Experience with AS400 iSeries, RPG (including ILE and free form), ACOM, and ShowCase Query

·         System administration, including AS400 access management, security, and printers

·         Management of AS400 scheduled and interactive jobs

·         Experience with SQL preferred

·         Strong team building and consensus building skills

·         In-depth development methodology and system implementation experience

·         Self-motivated and able to work effectively with little or no supervision

·         Effective communication, prioritization, and problem-solving skills

·         Ability to work effectively in a team environment, customer support environment, and with all levels of the organization
