Job Overview:
The Symitar Developer is responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of applications, automations, and reports within the Symitar Episys core processing system. This role leverages PowerOn, SymConnect, and SymXchange to support integrations, improve system efficiency, and enhance the member experience.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, test, and deploy PowerOn programs, reports, and batch processes in the Symitar Episys environment.
  • Maintain and enhance existing core system customizations to meet business needs.
  • Integrate Symitar with third-party platforms via SymConnectSymXchange, and other API/web service tools.
  • Collaborate with business units to gather requirements and deliver technical solutions.
  • Support core upgrades, conversions, and patch implementations.
  • Develop automation for operational and back-office processes.
  • Create and maintain documentation for scripts, APIs, and integrations.
  • Troubleshoot system issues and provide timely resolution and support.
  • Ensure compliance with data security and privacy standards.

Required Qualifications:

  • Total 5+ years of experience.
  • Minimum 2+ years in Symitar Episys core system development.
  • Proficiency in PowerOn programming and jBase or other multi-value databases.
  • Hands-on experience with SymConnect and/or SymXchange integrations.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.
  • Familiarity with credit union or banking operations and terminology.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Jack Henry products and financial technology ecosystems.
  • Knowledge of SQLREST/SOAP APIs, and scripting languages (e.g., PythonJavaScript).
  • Exposure to AIX/Linux environments.
  • Bachelors degree in Computer ScienceInformation Systems, or a related field.
