5/ Job Title:  - Pre-Sales & Proposal Engineer

Job Overview:

We are seeking a Pre-Sales Engineer to support our Business Development (BD) team by preparing technical proposals, cost estimations, and bid submissions for Defense and PSU programs. The candidate must have experience with GEM, E-procurement portals, and tender submission processes. A strong understanding of electronics, embedded systems, and hardware engineering is essential for developing accurate technical proposals.

Key Responsibilities:

Proposal Writing & Bidding

  • Lead the creation and submission of proposals, RFPs, RFQs, and RFIs by coordinating with internal teams and aligning with client requirements and competitive pricing strategies.
  • Develop and submit technical & commercial proposals for Defense and PSU programs.
  • Ensure compliance with RFP/RFQ requirements, preparing cost estimates and bid documentation.
  • Work closely with electronics, FPGA, and hardware engineering teams to translate technical requirements into proposals.
  • Perform feasibility assessments, risk evaluations, and technical validations of proposed solutions.
  • Develop and prepare comprehensive technical and commercial proposals, including block diagrams based on project requirements.

Technical & Industry-Specific Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with internal departments - engineering, procurement, finance, legal, and project management to gather necessary information and ensure proposal accuracy.
  • Work on System Integration projects, preparing responses for EOIs & Budgetary proposals.
  • Prepare presentations, technical specifications, and compliance statements.
  • Ensure that proposals align with client needs and industry norms, collaborating with engineering teams to provide precise, workable solutions.
  • Communicate with clients during the bidding process to clarify requirements, address inquiries, and submit RFP questions.
  • Meet with vendors and explain requirements, ensuring regular follow-ups with vendors/sub-vendors for procuring critical items.

Cost & Risk Management

  • Prepare cost analysis, including a breakdown of the Bill of Materials (BoM) with details on hardware, software, and overhead charges.
  • Develop cost breakdowns and pricing strategies to ensure competitive proposals.
  • Ensure all contracts and proposals meet legal, regulatory, and internal standards, identifying and mitigating risks.

Required Skills & Expertise:

  • Strong experience in technical proposal writing, cost estimation, and bid management.
  • Hands-on experience with GEM, E-procurement portals, and defense/PSU tendering.
  • Knowledge of electronics, embedded systems, FPGA-based hardware, and system integration.
  • Understanding of pricing strategies, project estimation, and financial structuring.
  • Strong proficiency in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and bid management tools.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and documentation skills.

Preferred Skills:

  • Prior experience in defense electronics, avionics, or embedded systems proposals.
  • Knowledge of procurement workflows, compliance documentation, and government bidding.
  • Familiarity with contract negotiations, vendor management, and project lifecycle Costing
