This is a high-impact leadership role, intended for a professional with deep industry experience, exceptional strategic thinking, and operational execution capability. The Director – New Initiatives will work closely with the CEO to conceptualize and execute programs of strategic importance, drive technology partnerships, support international expansion, and act as a force multiplier for the leadership team.
Key Responsibilities
● Act as a strategic partner to the CEO in driving high-priority initiatives across technology, business development, and global expansion.
● Lead cross-functional programs that require alignment across internal and external stakeholders including PSUs, government organisations, Lead system Integrators, International OEMs, and Startups.
● Develop and implement strategies for new market entry and international business development in Aerospace and Defence.
● Maintain a pulse on the regulatory, geopolitical, and Defence tech landscape to anticipate risks and opportunities.
● Represent the organization in select high-level engagements, conferences, and discussions.
Required Skill Sets
● 15+ years of experience in the Defence, aerospace, or national security tech ecosystem.
● Prior experience working closely with CXOs (preferably as Executive Assistant, Chief of Staff, Strategic Program Manager, or similar roles).
● Strong understanding of GoI ministries, defence procurement procedures, and regulatory frameworks.
● Demonstrated capability in business development, policy advocacy, and managing external affairs.
● Exposure to international collaborations, offsets, exports, or technology partnerships.
● Highly analytical, with excellent communication, stakeholder management, and decision-making skills.
● Ability to thrive in ambiguity and fast-changing strategic environments.
