Plant Head – Operations (AVP / VP)
Major topmost  Pharma Co – US FDA Approved Plant (Bharuch)

Spearhead operations at one of the largest US FDA–approved plants, overseeing a workforce of ~1,100 employees (approx. 600 on-roll and 500 contractual).

End-to-end leadership across key functions: Operations, HR, IT, Purchase, and Commercial.

Accountable for regulatory compliance, productivity enhancement, and cost optimization to meet stringent US FDA standards.

 

  • Role Overview

    The Plant Head will provide strategic and operational leadership for Ajanta Pharma’s largest US FDA–approved plant. This role carries full accountability for end-to-end manufacturing operations and all enabling functions—including HR, IT, Purchase, and Commercial—while ensuring compliance with stringent US FDA and global regulatory standards.

    Key Responsibilities

    Strategic Leadership: Define and execute the plant’s operational strategy in alignment with corporate goals and global regulatory requirements.

    Operational Excellence: Drive productivity, quality, and cost optimization across manufacturing, utilities, and support functions.

    Regulatory Compliance: Ensure continual readiness for US FDA, WHO, and other international audits; implement best-in-class quality and safety standards.

    People Management: Lead a workforce of approximately 1,100 employees (around 600 on-roll and 500 contractual), fostering a culture of performance, safety, and engagement.

    Cross-functional Oversight: Provide leadership for HR, IT, Purchase, and Commercial teams to ensure seamless plant operations.

    Financial Management: Oversee plant budgets (approx. ₹90 lakh annually) and ensure cost efficiency while meeting production targets.

    Continuous Improvement: Champion lean manufacturing, automation, and process enhancements to sustain competitive advantage.

    Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with senior leadership, regulatory agencies, vendors, and external partners.

    Qualifications & Experience

    Education: Graduate/Post-graduate in Engineering, Pharmacy, or related discipline; MBA/PGDM preferred.

    Experience: 18+ years in pharmaceutical manufacturing with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role in a US FDA-approved facility.

    Proven track record in large-scale plant management, regulatory compliance, and cross-functional leadership.
