Job Description

Job Title: NDT Technician – Oil & Gas

Location: Abu Dhabi, UAE

Experience: 5-6 years

Salary : Rs.3.15 LPA

Reporting to: NDT / Inspection Supervisor or Lead Inspector


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform a variety of NDT inspections on equipment, piping, welds, vessels, tanks, offshore platforms etc. using methods including (but not limited to) Ultrasonic Testing (UT), Radiographic Testing (RT), Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI / MT), Liquid / Dye Penetrant Testing (PT), Visual Testing (VT), Thickness Gauging, Hardness Testing.

  • Depending on the project, also perform advanced methods like PAUT (Phased Array UT), TOFD, IRIS, etc., if certified.

  • Carry out daily thickness measurements, corrosion monitoring, and condition assessments.

  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, welding details, piping isometrics, material specifications, quality codes and standards (e.g. ASME, ANSI, ISO, API, etc.).

  • Ensure compliance with safety, health, environmental, and quality standards and procedures (HSE).

  • Calibrate, maintain and care for NDT equipment; ensure proper documentation of equipment status and calibration certificates.

  • Prepare accurate inspection reports, maintain records and non-conformance reports.

  • Work with QA/QC / integrity teams to plan inspections, schedule jobs, report findings, follow up on remedial actions.

  • Coordinate with welding supervisors, inspection leads, or contractors to ensure inspection integrity.

  • Mentor or assist junior NDT technicians if applicable.


Qualifications & Skills

  • Diploma in Mechanical / Metallurgy / Welding Engineering, or equivalent technical qualification.

  • Certified NDT Level II (or equivalent) in multiple methods; ability/willingness to obtain advanced methods (PAUT, TOFD etc.) is a plus.

  • Strong experience (5-6 years) in the Oil & Gas sector (refinery, pipelines, topsides/offshore) performing inspections.

  • Knowledge of relevant codes, standards and procedures (e.g., ASME, API, ISO, etc.).

  • Ability to interpret and understand technical drawings and engineering documents.

  • Proactive, detail-oriented, good communication skills; capable of writing inspection / non-conformance reports.

  • Physical fitness to work on site, including in constrained spaces, at height, or in offshore environments (if applicable).
