Job Description
Industry/Domain: Plastic Components / Plastic Manufacturing
Experience: 8 – 12 Years
Salary Range: ₹12 – 15 LPA
Key Responsibilities:

Lead and manage the end-to-end New Product Development (NPD) process for plastic components/products.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Design, Tooling, Production, Quality, Purchase, and Marketing) to ensure smooth product development.

Review customer requirements and develop product concepts, feasibility analysis, and cost estimation.
-
Drive DFMEA, PFMEA, APQP, and PPAP processes for new projects.
-
Coordinate with tool room and vendors for mould/tool design, development, and validation.
-
Oversee prototyping, testing, validation, and final approval of new products.
-
Implement value engineering & cost reduction initiatives without compromising quality.
-
Ensure adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards in all NPD projects.

Maintain strong client interaction for design approvals, technical discussions, and change management.

Lead a small NPD team, mentoring engineers and ensuring best practices.
Key Skills & Competencies:

Strong knowledge of plastic injection moulding, blow moulding, and extrusion processes.

Expertise in mould/tool design, development, and validation.
-
Hands-on experience with CAD software (UG NX / CATIA / SolidWorks).
-
Familiarity with automotive plastic parts, OEM/Tier-1 requirements preferred.

Knowledge of ISO/TS16949 / IATF 16949, APQP, PPAP, FMEA, and 8D methodologies.

Strong project management, problem-solving, and leadership skills.

Excellent communication and client-handling skills.
Qualifications:
-
B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical / Plastics / Polymer Engineering (preferred).
-
Certification in project management or quality systems will be an added advantage.
