Assistant Manager – Indirect Taxation (GST)
Department: Finance & Accounts – Taxation

Reports To: Manager – Taxation / Head – Finance
Job Purpose:
To manage indirect taxation matters with a strong focus on Goods & Services Tax (GST), compliance, audits, and advisory for Bajaj Motor, ensuring adherence to statutory regulations and minimizing tax risks.
Key Responsibilities:

Manage complete GST compliance including GST returns, reconciliations, and annual filings.

Review input tax credit (ITC) reconciliations and ensure timely availment.

Handle GST assessments, audits, departmental queries, and litigation support.

Monitor changes in GST laws, rules, and notifications, and implement necessary process updates.

Coordinate with internal teams to ensure proper tax accounting and reporting.

Liaise with tax consultants, auditors, and government authorities for GST-related matters.

Support in drafting replies to notices, appeals, and submissions before authorities.

Ensure accuracy of GST data in ERP and drive automation for compliance.

Assist in other indirect tax matters (Customs, Excise, VAT legacy issues) if applicable.
Key Skills & Competencies:

Strong expertise in GST law, rules, compliance, and litigation.

Knowledge of indirect tax audits and assessments.

Hands-on experience in GST reconciliation and return filing.

Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP/Tally/Oracle) and MS Excel.

Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail.

Good drafting, presentation, and communication skills.
Education & Qualifications:

CA / CMA / MBA (Finance) / M.Com with specialization in Indirect Taxation preferred.
