Deputy Manager – Foundry Engineering
Experience: 14–20 Years
Salary: ₹18 LPA
Location: Bawal

Job Purpose:

To lead and manage foundry engineering operations, ensuring optimal casting quality, process reliability, cost efficiency, and adherence to customer standards. Responsible for process development, equipment improvement, and overall productivity enhancement in foundry operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage foundry engineering activities including process planning, methoding, and tooling coordination.

  • Develop and optimize casting processes for improved yield, quality, and cost efficiency.

  • Monitor and control melting, molding, core making, pouring, fettling, and heat treatment processes.

  • Drive improvements in pattern design, gating and risering systems, and solidification analysis.

  • Ensure compliance with quality standards, customer specifications, and safety norms.

  • Collaborate with Production, NPD, Quality, and Maintenance teams for smooth operations.

  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective action plans for internal and customer issues.

  • Manage equipment selection, capacity enhancement projects, and process automation initiatives.

  • Oversee process documentation, work instructions, and control plans.

  • Support new product development, sample approval, and PPAP activities.

  • Train and mentor the engineering and operator team for technical skill enhancement.

  • Prepare and present technical reports, process KPIs, and improvement plans to management.

Key Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of foundry processes (Sand Casting / GDC / HPDC / CI & SG Iron / Aluminum Casting).

  • Proficiency in methoding, simulation software, and tooling concepts.

  • Hands-on experience in process improvement and automation.

  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and team management skills.

  • Exposure to lean manufacturing, 5S, and TPM preferred.

  • Proficiency in MS Office, ERP, and foundry simulation tools.

Qualification:

  • B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical/Metallurgical/Production Engineering.

  • Additional certifications in foundry technology or Six Sigma preferred.
